19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of the previous year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
